vehicle care for CNG
The following safety precautions must be taken when servicing and repairing CNG cars, which are best done every six months for improved performance and mileage.* Vehicles must not be parked within 6 meters of any source of ignition or fire if there is a fuel system leak.
* It is advisable to empty the cylinder before welding or applying heat to any portion of a vehicle that is within 1.5 meters of the cylinder.
Don'ts and Dos* Always consult the kit manual from the provider for the troubleshooting instructions. Avoid doing it yourself.
* Never substitute an LPG, propane, or other cylinder for a CNG cylinder. It's forbidden and dangerous.
* Users must be aware of the placement and functionality of the cylinder valve, master shut-off valve, and burst disc in the CNG system for emergency treatment of any CNG leak. Ask your technician to identify these components for you after studying the system.
* The retrofitter doing the kit installation should be able to satisfactorily demonstrate these procedures. It is advisable to sometimes run the car on gasoline to make sure the gasoline system is in excellent shape.
